What does Best Lighting plan to do about the fixtures in the field?
We’re currently working with the Consumer Products Safety Commission on the official recall which will outline the corrective action. Once we have approval from the CPSC we’ll be contacting you with details on the plan.
How do I find out how many of these fixtures I purchased from Best?
Call 888-204-9905. Our Safety Recall Support team can provide you with your PO history.
How will you communicate with us when you have the corrective action plan?
You will receive an email as well as an official recall notice in the regular mail. It will have details about what the next steps are. You should also check https://www.bestlighting.net/blp/safety regularly as we’ll post additional information there as well.
The letter I received told me to send a list of where the fixtures are installed /Shipped to, where do I send the list?
What do we do if we think a fixture in the field is failing as described in the letter?
We’re asking that you call the 888-204-9905 toll-free number. There is an option to report the fixture there. One of our Safety Recall Support team members will be equipped to assist.
Where do I find information on the replacement pin?
You can reference the #3 BJB Pin information in the spec sheet by clicking HERE.
If fixture(s) have no lens, are they still at risk?
Fixtures with and without lens are part of the active recall. A confluence of circumstances contributes to the degradation of the pins. If there is no lens, the board may hang down and come in contact with materials below the fixture. Therefore, we require all sites to register for the repairs.
What if some of the customers fixtures are inoperable? Will these be changed or repaired during the recall service?
The recall service will only address the exchange of the pins in the fixture. Other product issues will be handled through our standard warranty process. Please contact rma@bestlighting.net for warranty processing.
How will Best Lighting communicate to the end customer regarding this recall?
Best Lighting will send a letter to any address where we shipped the affected fixtures. The letter will instruct a site representative to visit the Recall Repair Portal, once it is operational, to register their site.
What if I don’t want Best to communicate directly with my customer(s)?
Under the law we are obligated to ensure that every end-consumer of these products has been notified about the Safety Recall, the nature of the hazard and the remedy. If you wish to communicate with your customers directly, we ask that you reach out to our Safety Recall Support Team at 888-204-9905 or safetynotice@bestlighting.net. We will provide you with the steps and support needed to satisfy the legal requirements.
